Spotlight on Fans: Igor

Your name

Hello there, I am Igor! (Or Jheren Yeager/Kaiidox)

Where you are based?

I live in Switzerland.

What you would like to share about your family and job?

I currently work as an auditor for a big four. I live with my parents and also have one olde

r sister. However I am the only one interested in video games.

Any Pets?

Nope, unfortunately no pets yet!

How did you start watching/playing LOL?

I started way back in 2012/13 (not 100% sure), but I did not play for very long. Since birth, I have a paralysis on the right side of my body. Mainly affects my leg and arm/hand. Braincells, that were responsible for muscle control died during my birth. That caused me to lose control over my muscles. I struggled with walking and more for quite some time. I also cannot move my fingers very well, which lead me to do a lot of things with my left hand. However, I was doing therapy and exercises as well, to try and improve my r

ight hand. That also applied to League, of course. Still does, I guess. When I started, I was not able to play two-handed. I did everything with my left hand, which can be incredibly challenging. I could not even beat bots. Which is why I quit – I don’t take losses very well. It often frustrates me. A friend of mine discovered League in late 2015, when Worlds was happening, and asked me to try play the game and watch some of the games on Twitch. I gave it another try, because I thought, that my situation got decently better in the time after I quit the game initially. Suddenly, I could use my right hand to manage the keyboard and it would work! (Still slow and messy though, a lot of wrong buttons). It felt super great, to finally start winning – against bots, but also other players!

What does the LOL community mean to you?

The League community has given me a lot of confidence actually! Admittedly, I am at a relative low rank, but with time people asked me to play with them or thought, that I was playing well (again, relative to my rank of course). That was a new experience for me. With my paralysis, there was a lot of exclusion when it came to sports/playing games. Having now friends, that wanna play with me and me often times being a winning condition for my teams, makes me super happy!

What are your other passions? What do you like doing with your time?

Honestly it’s mostly gaming, that I invest my free time in. I also enjoy watching Anime/reading Manga!

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us Igor. It is so interesting to read about how you developed in your game play with the lack of functionality in your hand. I hope you are still continuing to play and dealing better with the losses ;D Lots of Love LeicesterLadyPerkz xxx
