What is your name?
Lord Kubz the fifth of Oldham should suffice. Or just Kublai Most people will just know me by Kubz in the League scene so we can just go with that too lol!
Where you are based?
Los Angeles, however I spend my off-season back home in Canada in a city called Yellowknife. I've also spent time living in Berlin, Marseille, Seoul, What you would like to share about your family and job?
I've been a professional League of Legends coach since 2013 and have spent time in the NA LCS, LEC, EU National Leagues, NA Academy and a few others. My family has supported me throughout my career and without them I wouldn't be where I am today, they're the best.
Any Pets and info on them?
My sister recently got a cat named Snowflake and every time Snowflake sees me she wants me to rub her belly. Every. Single. Time. How did you start watching/playing LOL?
Summer 2011, I was on an amateur Counter-Strike team (another esport) and one of my friends would always be late with the excuse being "But bro I'm busy playing League of Legends!" Eventually I downloaded the game and ended up watching events throughout 2012 casually but it was the Season 2 World Championships, where I saw the Taipei Assassins win the finals and hoist the Summoners Cup that I knew this was was the career I wanted to pursue. What does the LOL community mean to you?
Passionate, a bit of a herd mentality sometimes, but they love the game and that is the most important aspect. Without the passion of the community, we wouldn't have a competitive scene and I'm grateful people are as invested as they are. There is nothing that compares to playing at a roadshow, in front of a sold out arena, and having 10k+ people in the crowd. That's like a shot of adrenaline to the heart and I can't wait to have crowds back hopefully soon! What are your other passions? What do you like doing with your time?
League is a full-time lifestyle as a pro. I've lived and breathed this game for the past 9 years. I do find time to workout and enjoy investing and playing chess in my spare time, however coaching is my passion and my career so the more time I spend helping the younger players out the better
Thank you so much to Mr Kubi - as he is known in this household. He has taken the time to message me on numerous occasions, including watching my videos and giving me some coaching and tips. I think anyone who knows him will see, very quickly, he has a big heart. He cares deeply about the young people he teaches and also about developing the game and community. Lots of Love, LeicesterLadyPerkz.
PS - Did you know his mum was from England???
